On Cricket.
I really wonder what took over mankind – Fun or sport?.
Well growing up in india leaves you with no other choice but to appreciate many traditional stuff , including cricket. What the Great Britishers left us to ponder was “Can cricket overcome racial divide , poverty and corruption?” . We Indians ( or majority of us ) took it damn seriously! This has happened to the extent that when all the evils , racial divide , poverty and corruption, grew with India cricket grew like hell.
“ Well this is the moment we waited for centuries ..I have been working on years on my research “Indian Origin Cell Genes and Present Day Manifestations” and theres been a major breakthrough when we isolated the gene in this India based embryo …which when cultured under typical Indian neighbourhood demonstrated cricketo-philic tendences …. I mean that’s not what I say ….that’s nature’s way …”
says proud ,Prof Balaji Ramasubramnium , Dept of Genetics , Cornell University.
When we seek fun in our lives we end up thinking, playing , watching even betting cricket . So Mr Fun has its own way of proving the supremacy of BIG BUCKS over sport .I cant remember what not I had won over cricket matches in my childhood post school colonial matches including :
➢ rounded insignificant pebbles of various colours,
>tennis balls with exactly 17756 cloth fibres left over it due to continious usage .
>tennis ball which had a major part of its insignificant existence in sewage channels.
>The playground/pitch.
>Rs 22 ( precisely)
>The entire cricket kit ( applicable to affluent kids ).
Present day has a different story of it own .We find average to disgusting looking men potrayed with hot babes on primary billboards in prime city spots .When everything failed beyond innovation Men decided to customize our Holy Cricket. In this age of minimized tech stuff to physical limits lets start the 20-20 pageant .
Football for one particular reason is more crowd puller . Its only for 90 min!
Nah , that’s not enough ..what fun if NASA space walk is live broadcasted against the sledging of Symmonds and historic slap of Harbhajan ? Nah , you are a certified moron to ignore such history defying moments and watch what some over dressed Astronaut feels to be there fixing some studio enacted malfunctions?
“Houston ….we have a problem …its 115 for 6 wickets and cheerleaders are qutting..”
TO BE CONTINUED ….
…..jus not feeling to write more abt it right now.
“post school colonial matches” WTF? Cricket meant to be a gentleboy’s game – slow, easy, less taxing physically and supposed to be played while traces of alcohol have not flushed out of the system. When played by the “ungentlemanly” is a cheap display of athletic activity. I have always maintained that it doesn’t sound right when each f*ing game is suppose to last the length of reaching a critical advertising price point.
Whats the point of a sport when it sets back the day’s share of GDP, results in random stabbings and occasionally promotes the Hindu Muslim divide.

sports are fun, and very important too. dont know why are we indians so obsessed with cricket, that too most of us just watch and dont play. to the extend that other sports are ignored as if they almost dont exist, and many people may believe that cricket is our national game, not hockey.
Instead of just watching in wonder the historical slaps of the chosen few great stars, its high time to get up and play. Our sports minister recently said that India will beat China in the coming Olympics…hahaha…..lets stop dreaming and start playing
